Tomorrow, the FedEx Cup Playoffs kick off with the first leg in Paramus, New Jersey at The Barclays.

With this new-fangled points system, the regular season is rendered somewhat worthless with the major increase in points given in the Playoffs. 500 points for a win during the season, and 2,500 for a win in the Playoffs.

Which brings me to my next point. Ernie Els won the regular season, proving to be the most consistent player on the Tour by accumulating the most points. However, a couple bad weeks in the Playoffs and Ernie is wiped off the top of the FedEx Cup Points list. Doesn’t he deserve something for all the hard work he’s put in over the past months?

Someone needs to get Ernie Els a goddamn t-shirt. Or a plaque. Or a medal. Just something to commemorate his season.

What would be funny though, is to imagine all those kids in Africa who would be walking around with Steve Stricker champion shirts (get it, because he came in second?).
